Update the domain-specific metadata of a data object.

Replaces the domain-specific metadata attached to the data object with the request body. The metadata is a free-form JSON object; if the data type declares a metadata schema, the body is validated against it.

Transient result data uploaded for result import is marked as PVD-formatted by setting {"format": "PVD"} here.
