Domains

Default sender name and mailbox

defaultFromName is the display name mail clients show for emails sent from this domain when the from is a bare address; a from with an explicit name wins over the default.

defaultFromAddress is the mailbox sends leave from when they do not declare one, i.e. automations, which otherwise use no-reply@<domain> · an address that says not to reply under the name of a person who instead asks to be contacted. It must be on this domain.

Only the fields present are touched. Required scope: domains:write.

Request

  • Base URL: https://sending.dev/api/v1
  • URL: https://sending.dev/api/v1/domains/{id}
  • Auth: HTTP bearer

Path parameters

idstring required

Domain ID.

Request body

defaultFromNamestring nullable

Default sender name of the domain: display name applied to sends whose from is a bare address (hello@acme.com → Federico hello@acme.com). null or an empty string removes it.

defaultFromAddressstring nullable

Default sender mailbox: sends that do not declare one leave from here, i.e. automations, which otherwise use no-reply@<domain>. Must be an address on THIS domain (otherwise 422 invalid_from_address: from another domain the send would not pass the gate). null reverts to no-reply@.
