Same invariant refRules() enforces on every other address position: no path segment may be a bare . or ... Without it ?language=.. reached the wire as a literal .., because rawurlencode() percent-encodes / ? # : but leaves . alone (RFC 3986 unreserved) and Guzzle's path filter only escapes invalid characters — it never removes dot segments. The host is a class constant so this was never a host escape, but it was the one address position in the platform missing the guard.
