GET / already returns this, but on the hosted environments the ALB routes / to the frontend SPA, so the API's own root is unreachable from outside and qualia's version gate can never resolve a cloud commit -- which is why every caller passed --allow-version-mismatch and a CLI eight commits ahead of its backend ran unnoticed for two hours.

/health and /health/ready are forwarded today, so a sibling under that prefix is reachable with no load-balancer change.
