Reply to a DM

Sends a text reply to the customer through Instagram or Facebook Messenger. The message is delivered immediately and cannot be unsent.

24-hour reply window

Instagram and Facebook only allow a business to reply within 24 hours of the customer's last message. After that the request fails with 400 and the code REPLY_WINDOW_CLOSED, and you can reply again once the customer writes. Check replyWindow.canReply on the conversation first.

Success response

Returns the sent message. The conversation's needsReply becomes false.

The reply text. It is sent to the customer immediately and cannot be unsent. Length limits:

  • Instagram: 1,000 characters
  • Facebook: 2,000 characters
