Send Message

This service is used to send a message.

The maximum message size (along with the attachments) is generally limited to 300KB (MMS 1.2), but recently the MMS 1.3 standard has allowed for a maximum size of 600KB. Wireless carriers, however, can impose their own size restrictions. Phone.com will try to send the file provided via the API as is; however, different vendors might reject the message according to their own policy.

This API endpoint is designated for Person to Person (P2P) communications. Improper use for marketing type purposes or Application to Person (A2P) will cause upstream cellular companies to block the “From” number for SMS use. If you plan to use this endpoint for A2P or A2A applications that might also entail high volume, i.e., above the FREE limits set by the Phone.com plan, please contact our API support team at apisupport@phone.com to discuss other options.
