Resting/basal metabolic rate — the calories your body burns at rest. Returns the headline Mifflin-St Jeor (1990) value plus the revised Harris-Benedict (Roza & Shizgal 1984) estimate for comparison. Adult equations: ages 18 to 120. A younger age returns 400; for a child or teenager use myplate-plan or dri, whose energy equations have child forms.
