Body Mass Index and weight classification from height and weight. Adults use the WHO cutoffs; pass age + sex for ages 2–19 to use the CDC BMI-for-age percentiles (which are sex-specific).

Height, feet component (imperial).

Height, inches component (imperial).

weight_kgnumber

Weight in kilograms (metric). Provide weight_kg OR weight_lb.

weight_lbnumber

Weight in pounds (imperial).

ageinteger

Age in years (2–120). Omit for adult BMI cutoffs; required (with sex) under age 20 for CDC percentiles. Under 2, weight status is assessed on weight-for-length rather than BMI.

Required only when age < 20 (CDC curves are sex-specific).
