Create an Auto Split task

Split the Meshy 6 / Meshy 7 model of a prior task into separately printable parts — automatically, by named parts, or by color region — with optional connectors (thin regions are always reinforced). The result is untextured: the cut rebuilds the surfaces and drops any input texture. Consumes credits; see https://docs.meshy.ai for pricing.

input_task_idstring required

Prior task whose model to split. A textured model is accepted and its texture is not carried into the result.

mode'auto' | 'by_parts' | 'by_color'

auto lets Meshy choose the cuts; by_parts / by_color cut along the parts or color regions named in prompt.

promptstring

Names the parts to split into (1-10); naming a single part leaves the unnamed remainder as its own part. Required for by_parts / by_color; ignored for auto. A description that asks for no split or names more than 10 parts is rejected with 400 and not charged; one Meshy cannot read at all falls back to auto and the task reports prompt_ignored: true.

target_formatsstring[]

Export formats. Formats that support scene objects carry each part as a separate object; stl fuses all parts into one solid.

layout'assembled' | 'on_plate'

Arrangement baked into every output format: assembled keeps the source pose; on_plate lays the parts flat and spread on the build plate.

Add mortise-and-tenon connectors at each cut.

Connector shape (only when connectors is true).
