Places

Search places

Restaurants open right now, by name or kind of food, from what Layout holds, ranked by the person's location when you send it. Read-only: nothing is built or charged.

Query parameters

querystring required

What to look for: a name or a kind of food.

nearstring

A place the person named: a city or town. Results come from that place, and most distances are measured from its centre, not from the person. A neighbourhood, landmark or ZIP code is not matched as an area, and the results then carry localityMatched: false.

latnumber

Where the person is. Send with lng.

lngnumber

Where the person is. Send with lat.

limitinteger

Default 5.

Headers

Layout-Version'2026-10-01'

The API version you code against. Optional; without it you get 2026-10-01, the current version. Layout answers with the version it used.

Response

Places, possibly none. Read searched and emptyBecause before telling anyone there is nothing there.

stillCheckingtrue

Layout is still checking whether more places there take online orders. Ask again in a minute.

stillCheckingCountinteger
searchedboolean required

False when Layout did not look this time, so an empty list says nothing about the area.

localityMatchedboolean required

False when Layout could not place near: the rows are real but not where the person asked.

emptyBecause'all_closed' | 'not_searched' | 'nothing_to_search'

Why places is empty, when it is: everything there is shut, Layout did not look this time, or the query named nothing to look for.
