Query parameters

The search query for patents (e.g., 'autonomous vehicles', 'blockchain security').

pageinteger

The results page number. Use 0 for the first page, 1 for the second, and so on.

numinteger

The number of results to return per page (range: 1-100).

sort'NEWEST' | 'OLDEST'

Google Patents sort order.

Sorting order for patent results.

Available Values:

  • NEWEST: Newest first. Legacy value new is also accepted.
  • OLDEST: Oldest first. Legacy value old is also accepted.
clusteredboolean

If set to true, results will be grouped by classification.

dups'LANGUAGE'

Google Patents deduplication method.

Deduplication method.

Available Values:

  • LANGUAGE: Deduplicate by publication language. Legacy value language is also accepted.
patentsboolean

Whether to include Google Patents results.

scholarboolean

Whether to include Google Scholar results.

beforestring

Latest date to include. Format: 'type:YYYYMMDD' (e.g., 'publication:20230101').

afterstring

Earliest date to include. Format: 'type:YYYYMMDD' (e.g., 'filing:20200101').

inventorstring

Filter by patent inventor(s). Multiple values can be comma-separated.

assigneestring

Filter by patent assignee(s). Multiple values can be comma-separated.

countrystring

Set the target country code (e.g., 'us', 'uk') to localize results. See <a href="/reference/google-countries">Google Countries</a>.

languagestring

Set the language for the results using its two-letter code (e.g., 'en' for English, 'fr' for French). See <a href="/reference/google-language">Google Language</a>.

status'GRANT' | 'APPLICATION'

Google Patents status filter.

Filter by patent status.

Available Values:

  • GRANT: Granted patents.
  • APPLICATION: Patent applications.
type'PATENT' | 'DESIGN'

Google Patents type filter.

Filter by patent type.

Available Values:

  • PATENT: Patent.
  • DESIGN: Design patent.
litigation'YES' | 'NO'

Google Patents litigation filter.

Filter by litigation status.

Available Values:

  • YES: Patents with litigation.
  • NO: Patents without litigation.
