facebook

Group › Posts

Returns posts from a Facebook group, 3 to 4 per page, each with the post text, reaction count, comment count, the per-reaction breakdown, and author info.

Use it for group content, since profile/posts covers pages only. Facebook serves a group 3 to 4 posts per page, so a long history is many pages. Each page is billed as one call: quote a long walk with dry_run first. Send next_cursor back as cursor for older posts; each post's url works as the input to post and post/comments. Share counts are not on this surface; read one with post.

10 credits per call.

Paginates by cursor: see Pagination.

Request

  • Base URL: https://api.insightsocial.app
  • URL: https://api.insightsocial.app/v1/facebook/group/posts
  • Auth: API key in header x-api-key

Query parameters

urlstring
Example:https://www.facebook.com/groups/2204685680

Full URL of the Facebook group. Provide at least one of: url, group_id.

group_idstring

The ID of the group. Provide at least one of: url, group_id.

sort_by'TOP_POSTS' | 'RECENT_ACTIVITY' | 'CHRONOLOGICAL' | 'CHRONOLOGICAL_LISTINGS'

How to sort the posts. CHRONOLOGICAL_LISTINGS reads the group's listings feed and can stall on some groups (a group with no listings feed does not answer); use the default sort, or CHRONOLOGICAL for posts in date order.

cursorstring

Cursor to get the next page of posts. Take it from pagination.next_cursor on the previous response.

sincestring

Only rows published on or after this date: YYYY-MM-DD (midnight UTC) or an ISO 8601 timestamp. Rows older than it are left off each page. This list is not in date order, so the walk does not stop at the date: keep following next_cursor, and each page costs what a page costs even when every row on it is filtered out. A row with no date is kept.

untilstring

Only rows published on or before this date: YYYY-MM-DD (that whole UTC day is included) or an ISO 8601 timestamp. Newer rows are left off each page and the walk does not stop, so older pages follow. A row with no date is kept.

dry_run'1'

Set to 1 to get the price of this call without making it: data.dry_run carries credits_min and credits_max. Nothing is charged.

Success.
