Turn a still image into a subtle looping video
Changed onAnimates one image into a short, loop-ready clip for use as a living background. The camera stays fixed and only the parts of the scene that would move in real life move: water, light, mist, particles, fabric, creatures. Ideogram inspects the image and writes the motion prompt, so the request needs only the image. Video generation runs asynchronously. Poll GET /v1/generations/{generation_id} with the returned generation_id until the generation completes or fails.
Request
- Base URL: (relative, and it does not resolve against the document’s source URL)
- URL: /v2/tool/living-image
- Auth: one of:
- API key in header Api-Key
- HTTP bearer
Query parameters
When true, the request is validated and priced but not run: nothing is generated, stored, or billed, and no safety review is performed. The response is a PriceQuote object instead of the usual response for this endpoint. Send exactly the request you would send to generate, so the quote reflects the same options.
