expected_revision is REQUIRED and there is no unconditional form. The Copilot writes this document continuously, so an unguarded write is not a race between two people - it is a person silently discarding whatever the assistant learned between their read and their write.

REQUIRED optimistic-concurrency token - a 64-character digest of the document you read. There is no unconditional write here, on purpose: the wiki is edited by the Copilot as well as by people, so a blind write would silently discard something it had just learned.

Open because the personal wiki is a DOCUMENT whose sections follow what has been learned about a person, and because each fact carries provenance - which mailbox or meeting it came from - that grows as new sources are connected. Pinning the shape would silently drop the provenance on the newest source, and on a "what do you know about me" surface a fact with no visible origin is worse than no fact.
