Call page_ads.boost_post

Turn one of this Page's published posts into a boosted ad — 'boost this post', 'turn this post into an ad'. Boost one published Facebook Page post into an ad for that Page. Before it runs, the member is shown the post, the daily budget and the days on a card and approves it there. It does NOT start spending: the ad account's own spend approval still stands in front of any money, and everything it creates is PAUSED. Report the status field exactly as returned — never say the ad is live or running. Not for a post that has not gone out on the Page yet, or for drafting a new ad from a post or an idea — that is ads.start_brief. Over the API it answers in two calls: without confirmation_id it proposes — says what would happen, returns a confirmation_id and changes, spends and sends nothing; the same arguments again with that confirmation_id, on a member's own API key, do it.

Every result names the workspace it ran in. Say which workspace the answer is about. When the account has more than one workspace and none is selected, this tool refuses with workspace_ambiguous and lists the choices — offer them, never pick one.

Headers

x-request-idstring

Your own id for this request, echoed back and recorded on the audit trail. 1–128 characters from A–Z a–z 0–9 . _ : -, starting with a letter or digit; anything else is replaced by a generated id.

Request body

post_idstring required

The post to boost, exactly as page_ads.list_posts reported it. Never invent one.

namestring required

What to call this boost, so the operator can find it later.

daily_budget_usd_centsinteger required

The per-day budget in USD cents. At least 100 ($1.00).

duration_daysinteger required

How many days the boost should run (1-90).

countriesstring[] required

ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes to target, e.g. ["US"]. Meta requires at least one.

confirmation_idstring uuid

Omit to propose: the first call says what would happen, returns a confirmation_id and changes nothing. To go ahead, send the same arguments again with that confirmation_id, on a member's own API key; a service account's key can propose but never confirm.

workspacestring

Which workspace to run in — its slug. Omit to use your default. With more than one reachable workspace and no default, the call is refused and the choices are listed.

Response

The call was admitted and dispatched. ok says whether the tool succeeded — a refusal the tool itself produced is still a 200, exactly as it is a successful JSON-RPC result over MCP.
