Delete payment method

Remove a saved payment method from the payer's list at Paddle. The card a live plan bills on is refused (409 payment_method_in_use) until the plan is moved to another card with get_billing_payment_method_add_link; so is a card another subscription of the same payer uses. Idempotent: a method Paddle no longer holds answers already_deleted. The item is {sid, name}, a neutral label with no card data; soft_deleted false (Paddle removes it).

Contract:

  • MCP tool delete_billing_payment_method, registry package mcp.id/billing_payment_methods, mount id.billing.
  • Operation delete, response envelope delete_simple.
  • Flags: dangerous: the MCP layer gates it behind a preview/commit token, and the effect cannot be undone through this API.
