Update a Mind

Partially update an existing Mind. Send only the fields you want to change; omitted fields are left untouched, and at least one recognised field must be present. Callable by the owner, by a direct Mind member, or by a member of the team the Mind is shared with; everyone else gets 403 Forbidden. Existence and permission are checked before the body is validated, so a missing or forbidden Mind always yields 404/403 rather than a field error. Note that isPublic is accepted for backward compatibility but always stored as false (individual Minds can no longer be made public; share an Audience instead), and type values outside creative, expert, user are normalised to creative. Sharing changes: isLinkSharingEnabled: true keeps or generates the publicShareId, false clears it; isSharedWithTeam (owner or Mind admin) shares the Mind with the owner's team or removes that access.

type'creative' | 'expert' | 'user'

Mind archetype. Case-insensitive; aliases artist -> creative and client / consumer -> user; any other value becomes creative.

disciplinestring

Area of expertise. An empty string clears it (stored as null).

systemPromptstring

Replace the full system prompt verbatim (not trimmed). Use POST /v1/minds/{mindId}/regenerate-prompt to rebuild it from the knowledge base instead.

sourcePolicy'auto' | 'knowledge_only'

Persisted answer policy. knowledge_only always retrieves processed Mind knowledge and fails closed when it cannot support the answer; a request-level setting can never downgrade it. In a Study it still reads the stimulus a question is asked about (attached files, images, links), never as a source of facts. Empty string or null resets to auto.

tagsstring[]

Replaces the tag list. Entries are trimmed, non-string and empty entries are dropped, and only the first 20 are kept.

isPublicboolean

Accepted for backward compatibility but always stored as false. Individual Minds cannot be made public; share an Audience instead.

isLinkSharingEnabledboolean

true keeps or generates a publicShareId so the Mind is readable via its share link; false clears it.

isSharedWithTeamboolean

Owner or Mind admin. true lets every current and future member of the owner's team open and chat with the Mind; it sends no invitation or notification. false removes that access at once. Sharing requires the owner to be in a team (400 TEAM_REQUIRED); anyone else gets 403 TEAM_SHARE_OWNER_ONLY.

profileImageUrlstring uri

Avatar URL stored as given (not downloaded or re-hosted). An empty string clears the image.
