wallet

Initialize new wallet with randomly generated seed

Initializes a brand new wallet by generating a fresh BIP-39 mnemonic seed phrase on the server. The seed is encrypted on disk with pass and the returned mnemonic is the ONLY copy — the caller must back it up, the node will not show it again. Fails if a wallet file already exists; use /wallet/restore to overwrite from a known mnemonic instead.

Request body

passstring required

Spending password used to encrypt the wallet secret storage on disk. Required on every /wallet/unlock afterwards. Not recoverable — losing it means restoring from the mnemonic.

mnemonicPassstring

Optional BIP-39 passphrase (a.k.a. 25th word) that is mixed into the seed derivation. Distinct from pass: it is NOT stored by the node and MUST be supplied again on restore. Empty/omitted means no passphrase.

Response

New wallet with randomly generated seed created successfully

mnemonicstring required

Mnemonic seed phrase
