Which listings point at a site that is not really there
Applies this directory’s screening policy to the site-probe evidence already on record.
Fetches nothing. Run POST .../site-probes/sweep with kind: "site" first — a link sweep does not capture page content, so screening after one reports every host as unscreened.
One verdict per listing, most severe first:
- site-dead — the host does not resolve
- site-parked — registrar parking page or for-sale lander
- site-placeholder — coming-soon page, unedited CMS default, suspended account
- site-thin — under ~200 characters of text, often a JavaScript-rendered site rather than an empty one
summary.unscreened is the gap in the report, not a pass. Those listings have no evidence either way. summary.inconclusive counts hosts that refused us or that we could not reach; neither ever produces a verdict, because a Cloudflare challenge is a fact about our crawler and not about the business.

Headers
Optional. Send a unique key per logical operation to make retries safe. 1-256 characters, and only letters, digits, - and _ — colons and other separators are rejected with 400. A retry with the same key replays the original response (status + body) instead of re-executing. Cached for 24h. Reusing a key with a different request body returns 409 — note that a timestamp in the body (e.g. fetchedAt) turns an otherwise-stable key into a permanent 409, so either omit it (snapshots default it server-side) or fold a payload digest into the key. Skipped on 5xx responses (transient errors should be retried fresh).
