Cross Tidal Forcing

Tidal forcing on earthquake triggering analysis.

Tests whether earthquake occurrence is periodic at tidal frequencies using Schuster's test and Rayleigh statistics. The p-values are valid; mean/preferred tidal phase is withheld (null) because the phase origin of the tidal clock is arbitrary (tide-engine audit 2026-10-12). Check data_source: the default request analyses a synthetic catalogue.
