Helium-Starlink Coupling

Atmospheric Coupling

Thermosphere-surface atmospheric coupling analysis.

Correlates Starlink-derived thermospheric density at 550 km altitude with surface barometric pressure to characterise the full vertical atmospheric column. Strong coupling (high |r|) may indicate large-scale atmospheric forcing from volcanic eruptions, nuclear detonations, or Lamb wave propagation.

Physics: r = pearsonr(rho_thermosphere, P_surface) over trailing 24-hour window at 1-hour resolution.

Coupling strength is classified as: weak |r| < 0.3 moderate 0.3 <= |r| < 0.5 strong 0.5 <= |r| < 0.7 very_strong|r| >= 0.7
