Retrieve a message

Retrieves a single message by ID, including its full text and attachment descriptors.

Path parameters

account_idstring required

The account ID (acc_...) that owns the chat.

chat_idstring required

The unique identifier of the chat that contains the message.

message_idstring required

The unique identifier of the message to retrieve.

Query parameters

expandstring

Extra fields to resolve, comma-separated in one value (expand=public_identifier). Present on every result as a value or null; repeating the key drops values.

Response

A single message, including its full text and attachment descriptors.

idstring

Message identifier.

account_idstring

Account id that owns this message.

chat_idstring

Chat this message belongs to.

sender_idstring

Identifier of the sender.

textstring nullable

Full message text. Curviate does not keep it on the way out; reading a conversation back stores its message bodies in your tenant's inbox records, with no expiry.

timestampstring

ISO-8601 UTC send timestamp.

is_senderboolean

True if the connected account sent this message. Omitted when Curviate cannot yet identify the connected account; treat a missing value as unknown, not as received.

is_seenboolean

True if the account is mentioned in this message.

reaction_countnumber

Total reaction count across all types (derived).

The platform this message originates from.
