sending

Reply to all

Replies to everyone visible on message_id. The source, fields, subject, outcomes and recovery are those of reply, which refuses recipient and subject fields; only the recipients differ:

  • From received mail: To is the Reply-To (or From) plus the original To; Cc is the original Cc.
  • From your sent mail: the original To and Cc.
  • Groups are expanded and duplicates removed without regard to case. The sending inbox is left out; the account's other inboxes are kept. If only Cc recipients remain, the first moves to To. If none remain, the request returns 409 reply_recipients_unavailable.

Original Bcc recipients are never included. If your inbox received the message as a Bcc recipient, replying to all shows everyone that it did.

For a received message, these recipients come from headers the sender wrote: check its content.reply_to, content.from, content.to and content.cc against your assignment before calling, or create a reply-all draft to review them first.
