Chain

Get a block by hash

Fetch a block by its 32-byte block hash. Resolves the block hash to its height and returns the block record. Same response shape and finality rule as GET /{chain}/blocks/{number}. No pagination. A hash that resolves to a block below coverage.from_block is 422 no_coverage, not 404; a hash the lookup does not know (for instance a block in a partition not attached yet) is 404.

get/{chain}/blocks/hash/{hash}

  • URL: https://api.blockvectra.com/v1/data/{chain}/blocks/hash/{hash}
  • Auth: API key in header x-api-key

Path parameters

chainstring required

Chain identifier: the chain value of an entry in GET /chains (for example robinhood_mainnet), which lists every value this API accepts, i.e. the exact lowercase form of that entry's chain_slug. Matching is exact and case-sensitive; other spellings, aliases and numeric chain IDs are not accepted and return 404 not_found (unknown or not-public chain). What the chain serves differs per chain: see that entry's features and coverage.

hashstring required

32-byte hash. 0x/0X prefix optional; either hex digit case is accepted.

32-byte block hash, 0x/0X prefix optional, either digit case.

Response

The block.
