Wheel of the Year (Eight Sabbats) (年輪八節)
THE WHEEL OF THE YEAR — the eight sabbats of modern Paganism: the four SOLAR QUARTERS (Yule, Ostara, Litha, Mabon — the solstices and equinoxes) interleaved with the four CROSS-QUARTER fire festivals inherited from the Gaelic year (Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh, Samhain — attested Irish quarter-days a thousand years older than the modern synthesis, WHICH IS LABELED AS THE TWENTIETH-CENTURY SYNTHESIS IT IS). TWO CONVENTIONS SERVED SIDE BY SIDE, NEVER BLENDED: the calendar dates the festivals are overwhelmingly kept on (1 Feb / 1 May / 1 Aug / 31 Oct) and the ASTRONOMICAL midpoints (the Sun at 15° of the fixed signs), computed on the catalogue's shared Sun with the published 2026 solstice/equinox anchors asserted at load. THE CROSS-CIVILIZATION IDENTITY IS THE LAW: the four cross-quarter longitudes (315°/45°/135°/225°) are EXACTLY the 四立 of the East Asian calendar — astronomical Imbolc IS 立春, Beltane IS 立夏, Lughnasadh IS 立秋, Samhain IS 立冬: two civilizations, oceans apart, marking the same four instants of the same Sun, and this engine computes them with the very code path the jieqi and doyō engines trust. The southern-hemisphere reversal is carried on every sabbat; meanings are the living tradition's own, reported as tradition. Celtic becomes four systems. Pure compute, no LLM.
