We Tripantu (Mapuche New Year) (馬普切新年)

WE TRIPANTU (Wiñol Tripantu) — the Mapuche new year, ‘the return of the sun’: on the longest night of the southern winter the community keeps vigil, and at EPEWÜN, the dawn watch, the family enters the river so the new water of the returning sun carries the old year away. THE SOLSTICE-HOLIDAY LAW is the jewel: Chile’s LEY 21.357 (2021) made the June-solstice day the national Día de los Pueblos Indígenas — a legal holiday defined by the ASTRONOMICAL EVENT, one of the only national holidays on earth that MOVES WITH THE SKY. Computed here exactly as the law defines it (astronomy-engine solstice, Chilean civil time), with the published cells asserted: 20 June in 2024 and 2025, 21 June in 2026, and the whole 2021–2050 window proven to stay on the 20th or 21st. THE TRANSITIONAL IRONY served as the statute’s own text: the transitory article fixed the first holiday at 21 June 2021 — but the solstice fell on the 20th in Chilean time (asserted): the statute’s first year contradicts its own rule. The San Juan colonial overlay named, never blended. A forty-eighth tradition opens. Pure compute, no LLM.
