Trobriand Milamala Calendar (特羅布里恩蟲曆)

THE TROBRIAND MILAMALA CALENDAR — the year corrected by a WORM: the Trobriand Islands count twelve KWELUVA (garden moons) through the yam cycle to MILAMALA, the harvest festival when the spirits of the dead return — but twelve moons run ~11 days short of the sun (the drift law asserted, with the exact closure identity), so the islands keep TWO SYNCHRONIZERS: on Vakuta the PALOLO WORM — phase-locked to the solar year, rising after the October–November full moons — recalibrates the count (the worm IS called milamala there); on Kiriwina, which has no worm, the STAR ASTRONOMERS of Wawela village reset the year by the constellations. One archipelago, two clocks — a worm and the stars — correcting the same eleven days. THE WORM-PHASE LAW proven from the sky: the Oct–Nov anchor gap is one synodic month (asserted by live lunar search); the palolo window computed live for any year. The islanders’ own phrase for intercalation failure carried verbatim: THE MOON HAS GONE SILLY. Samoa’s palolo nights and Vanuatu’s worm calendars named as the wider family, never blended. A fifty-first tradition opens. Pure compute and served ethnography, no LLM.
