Get task (xAI shape)

Reads the same task as GET /v1/tasks/{id}, rendered in the xAI shape. It is an alias, not a second store: one task, two renderings.

This path exists because official xAI clients build the retrieval URL themselves; without it, pointing base_url at this site would produce a successful submit followed by a 404 on retrieval.

This shape carries no usage or cost fields. Use GET /v1/tasks/{id} when you need them; its cost field is the amount actually charged. The billing page carries the same figure.

Response

Always 200, finished or not — the state is in status.

status'pending' | 'done' | 'failed'

done / failed are terminal — stop polling once you see them.

Note: the upstream also has an expired state. We never return it. An expired task on our side means the same thing to you as a failure, and an extra state is one more thing your client cannot act on.
