automations

Rename, enable or disable an automation, or replace its definition.

The definition of an enabled automation cannot change: disable it first, or duplicate it and edit the copy. Enabling snapshots a version, so a run never executes a half-edited definition.

Headers

Idempotency-Keystring

Makes this call safe to retry. Send the same key with the same body and the original response is replayed instead of the work happening twice. Keys are 1-256 characters and are remembered for 7 days. While the first attempt is still running, a second call with that key returns 409 idempotency_in_flight (Resend calls this concurrent_idempotent_requests); the same key with a different body returns 409 idempotency_payload_mismatch (Resend: invalid_idempotent_request). Resend-Idempotency-Key is accepted as the same header.

Resend-Idempotency-Keystring

Alias of Idempotency-Key. Idempotency-Key wins if both are sent.

Request body

namestring
status'enabled' | 'disabled'

enabled snapshots a version and starts firing; disabled stops new runs.

stepsobject[]

Linear: ordered steps with kind email, webhook or ab_split, beside a trigger. Graph (Resend): steps with key, type (trigger, delay, send_email, wait_for_event, condition, contact_update, contact_delete, add_to_segment) and config, sent together with connections. A graph has exactly one trigger step, at most 150 steps, every step reachable from the trigger and no loops.
