Get Chat Messages

Chat message fetch. Supports cursor-based incremental loading. Use since_id param to only fetch NEW messages since last poll. This reduces payload from ~50 messages to 0-3 new messages per poll.

Frontend polling rules (enforce in ActivityChat.js):

  • Poll only when tab is VISIBLE (document.visibilityState === 'visible')
  • Interval: 20s minimum (was 5s)
  • Pass since_id to get incremental updates only
  • Stop polling if component unmounts
