Is the door open, and what does the page need to knock on it?

Public and cheap on purpose: the landing screen paints before it mints, so it asks this first and renders the Turnstile widget only if there is a site key to render it with.

segment is a campaign's word for who is arriving (?segment=forklifts, read off the ad's UTM by the page). It picks the door's pitch and which samples go first; an unknown word is the default door, never an error.

words is the SECOND random dimension (2026-09-05): the page deals one name from the words deck this answer carries, and the pitch comes back wearing that set's title, line, cta and placeholder on the arm's layout, with pitch.words saying which. An unknown name is the arm's own copy and pitch.words == '' — never an error either.
