# Extend user's plan expiration

`POST /membership/{user_id}/plan/{plan_id}`

Extend the user's plan expiration date. When the user's plan is active, the plan ends on the last day of the month of `expiration_date`, whatever month the request is sent in, so sending the same request again changes nothing.

- `plan_id` integer, required

## Request body

- object
  - `expiration_date` string, date, required: The plan's new expiration date. The date should always be the last day of the month; any other day is stored as the last day of its month. A date that doesn't exist (such as `2027-02-31`) or that is earlier than the active plan's current expiration date is rejected and nothing changes.
  - `addons` object[]: Optional list of add-ons to extend in-place to the plan's new expiration date.
    - `addon_id` integer, required: The add-on id to extend along with the plan.

## Response `204`

Plan successfully associated/updated to the user.

## Other responses

- `400`: The plan could not be extended, for example because `expiration_date` is earlier than the active plan's current expiration date. The reason is included in the response body.
- `403`: Partner does not have permission to manage the requested plan.
