# Get Chat Identity

`GET /api/support/chat-identity`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://zsign.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://zsign.io/api/support/chat-identity`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Identity payload for the Plain live-chat widget.

`customer_details_signature` signs email + external_id together (Plain's
chat-authentication v1 format). Since 2026-10-12 Plain only links a chat
customer to their externalId when it is covered by this signature, so the
widget must send exactly the `email` and `external_id` returned here.
`email_hash` (email only) stays for frontends built before that change.

Email is only returned together with a signature, both minted here so
PLAIN_CHAT_EMAIL_SECRET never leaves the backend. A client-supplied email
is ignored: the requester's identity comes from the session, same as
POST /tickets.
