# One version's image

`GET /v1/images/{file}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.zindex.ai`
- URL: `https://api.zindex.ai/v1/images/{file}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - none

file is {id}@{revision}.svg or .png. A signed link from diagram_render or GET /v1/diagrams/{id}/render (query e and s) needs no key and works for 7 days, and draws the plain version (it ignores from). Without one, send an API key for the diagram's workspace, or the website's session. Each version's image is drawn when it is saved and kept, so it never changes. Its bottom-right line is its address and date, such as zindex.ai/d/dgm_7Q2kD9a1B2c3@5 · 2026-04-01, the same on every plan (versions saved before it print {id} | Rev N - {date}): the ID and revision in it open that version (GET /v1/diagrams/{id}?revision=5 or diagram_get) for the diagram's workspace, and a published one with no key (GET /v1/public/diagrams/{id}@{revision}).

## Other responses

- `400`: INVALID_REQUEST: from is not an earlier revision, or engine is not "current"
- `401`: AUTH_REQUIRED
- `403`: LINK_INVALID: invalid or expired link
- `404`: NOT_FOUND
- `422`: DRAW_TIMEOUT: drawing a version that had no kept image, or its PNG, took longer than the drawing budget (5 s through a signed link, even with a key; 20 s with a key and no signed link), or needed more memory than it allows
- `429`: RATE_LIMITED: over the request rate limit (see Rate Limiting). Wait retryAfter seconds (also the Retry-After header), then try again.
- `503`: BUSY: every drawing worker is busy and the queue is full. Wait retryAfter seconds (also the Retry-After header): half the budget of the drawing refused. Then try again.
