# Attach an existing artifact to a chat

`POST /chats/{chatId}/artifacts`

  - `artifactId` string, required: Artifact to attach to this container

## Response `201`

Attached. `outcome` is `created` for a new link, or `existing` when the artifact was already in this chat (including the chat it was recorded in): in which case nothing was written and no one was notified again.
