# Propose a split of the disputed funds

`POST /api/wallet/escrow/{id}/dispute/propose`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.zettoai.com`
- URL: `https://api.zettoai.com/api/wallet/escrow/{id}/dispute/propose`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

refund_cents (to the buyer) + release_cents (to the seller) must equal the unreleased amount. Replaces any earlier proposal. The other side accepts it with /accept.

- `400`: Amounts do not sum to the unreleased amount
- `409`: Dispute no longer open, or your response window closed
