# Get Current Quote

`GET /api/market/quote`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.zerogex.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

Get current underlying quote.

Returns the live tick (the latest ``underlying_quotes`` bar of any
session). This is what every "what is it trading at right now"
surface needs: the header's extended-hours row, the GEX live spot,
the chart's tip-close merge, the strike-profile spot line.

The header's HEADLINE price during AH / pre-market / closed /
weekend is sourced separately from ``/api/market/session-closes``
(which applies the asset-aware 16:00 cash-close rule); the frontend
multiplexes between the two via ``getPrimaryPriceChangeSummary``.
Do NOT collapse this endpoint into the cash-close path — that
freezes the extended-hours ticker at the cash close on every
surface that reads ``quoteData.close``.

``delay_minutes`` serves the newest bar at least that old instead, with
``session`` describing the market at that instant (see
:mod:`src.api.delayed_read`).

## Query parameters

- `symbol` string
- `delay_minutes` integer: Serve the newest data that is at least this many minutes old instead of the latest. 0, the default, is the live read.
