# Accept a message request

`POST /v1/inbox/conversations/{conversationId}/accept`

## Request

Accept a Facebook or Instagram Message Request (listed with `GET /v1/inbox/conversations?folder=requests`) by replying to it.
Meta has no separate accept call: the first reply is what moves the thread into the inbox, so this sends `message`
through the same path, checks and webhooks as `POST /v1/inbox/conversations/{conversationId}/messages`, and answers the same way.
Supports the `Idempotency-Key` header.

  - `accountId` string, required: Facebook or Instagram social account ID
  - `message` string, required: The reply that accepts the request

## Response `200`

Reply sent, the request is accepted

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid body, or an account that is not Facebook or Instagram (PLATFORM_NOT_SUPPORTED)
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key. `code` is `missing_credentials` when no Authorization header was sent and `invalid_credentials` when the key is unknown, revoked or expired.
- `403`: Inbox addon required or plan limit reached
- `404`: Account or conversation not found
- `409`: The same Idempotency-Key is still processing, or another app owns the thread under Meta's handover protocol (code not_thread_owner, `details.ownerAppId` names it when Meta says). Take control with thread-control first (accounts connected through a Facebook Page only; an Instagram Login connection cannot take).
