# Create Fixed Asset

`POST /companies/{company_id}/gl/fixed-assets`

## Request

Register a fixed asset by hand; posts nothing.

Writes the asset and, when a date is known, its acquisition event. With
``journal_line_id`` ("register from this movement") the cost comes from a posted
purchase line on the category's asset account (see ``…/fixed-asset-register/
unregistered-movements``): the line must be a debit with room for this cost
(``invalid.assetMovement``), no held AI capitalization proposal may cover it
(``conflict.assetMovementHasProposal``), and the category's accumulated-depreciation
account must carry no depreciation booked outside the register
(``conflict.assetContraHasDepreciation`` — the asset would be depreciated twice).
