# Delete a coupon

`DELETE /v1/coupons/{couponId}`

Delete a coupon. Requires the `coupons:write` scope. The coupon is deactivated and kept for the payments that used it, but it no longer appears in the list, `GET` returns `404`, and its code can be used by a new coupon. A payment that already holds the coupon keeps its discount.

- `couponId` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Coupon deleted.

- `401`: Missing or invalid authentication token.
- `403`: The API key is valid but does not have the required scope for this endpoint.
- `404`: Resource not found.
