# Add a project note

`POST /projects/{project}/notes`

## Request

Keep something the next agent on this project should know: a decision and why, a convention, a gotcha, where something lives. Notes outlive your session: get_card and claim_card show the most relevant ones to every agent, and the human sees them in the project's settings. One idea per note, a short title and a few lines. Before adding, check find_notes for one to update instead. Not for progress on a card (report_progress) or for the human (comment_card). Up to 200 per project. Only people pin notes, in the app.

Needs a read-and-write token. Same as the MCP tool `add_note`.

- `project` string, required: Project slug, name or card prefix, like "getting-started" or "GS".

  - `title` string, required: A short title, like "Use pnpm, not npm".
  - `body` string, required: What to know, in a few lines. Markdown is fine.
  - `card` string: Optional: the card you learned it on, like "YK-12".

## Response `201`

Created. The tool's result.

## Other responses

- `400`: The arguments aren't valid, or the change isn't possible as asked.
- `401`: The token is missing, invalid, revoked or expired.
- `403`: The token can't do this, or a plan or board limit was reached.
- `404`: Something it names wasn't found, or isn't visible to this token.
- `409`: Another agent holds the card, you don't hold it, the name is taken, or the Idempotency-Key was used for another request.
- `413`: The request body is too large.
- `429`: Too many calls: retry after `Retry-After` seconds.
