# Create a relationship

`POST /v1/patient_relationships`

Requires the `patient_relationships:write` scope.

## Request body

- object
  - `primary_person` integer, required
  - `related_person` integer, required
  - `relationship` integer, required — Option id from GET /v1/relationship_options

## Response `201`

Created

## Other responses

- `401` — Missing or invalid API key
- `402` — Monthly quota exceeded
- `403` — Insufficient scope, inactive subscription, or the clinic hasn't authorized API access
- `429` — Rate limit exceeded — see Retry-After header
- `502` — Upstream unavailable
