# Create keyword monitor

`POST /monitors/keywords`

Creates a keyword monitor. Keyword monitors are unlimited. Active monitors check every 1 second and cost 21 credits per hour. Events and webhook deliveries are included. Creation requires available credits for the first hourly charge.

## Request body

  - `query` string, required — X search query to monitor. Whitespace is normalized.
  - `eventTypes` EventType[], required — Array of event types to subscribe to.

Keyword monitor created

- KeywordMonitor — Keyword monitor that tracks matching public X activity.

  - `nextBillingAt` string, date-time, required — Next hourly credit charge time for this keyword query monitor.

## Other responses

- `400` — Invalid input
- `401` — Unauthenticated
- `402` — Payment required. MPP reads return a problem document and `WWW-Authenticate`. Authenticated reads return balances and checkout actions. Guest keys receive only the guest top-up action. Other endpoints may use legacy errors. A failed request never creates checkout. Require user confirmation before creating one.
- `409` — Keyword monitor already exists
- `429` — Xquik tier rate limit exceeded. The response includes a `Retry-After` header with the number of seconds to wait before retrying.
