# POST /api/v1/drafts

`POST /api/v1/drafts`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://xquik.com`
- URL: `https://xquik.com/api/v1/drafts`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Stores a private Xquik draft. It never publishes or creates native X drafts.

## Request body

- object
  - `text` string, required: Draft text, up to 25,000 characters. An emoji counts as 2.
  - `topic` string: Optional topic, up to 25,000 characters. Xquik keeps the first 500.
  - `goal` 'engagement' | 'followers' | 'authority' | 'conversation'

## Response `201`

Draft created

- object: The fields a write did not read, when the request sent any.
  - `id` string, required
  - `text` string, required
  - `topic` string
  - `goal` string
  - `createdAt` string, date-time, required
  - `updatedAt` string, date-time, required
  - `ignoredFields` string[]: Fields the request sent that this route does not read, in the order sent. They changed nothing. The answer leaves this out when the route read every field.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input. A value past its maxLength gets this answer, & the message names the field & its limit.
- `401`: Unauthenticated
- `429`: Too many requests right now. Each user gets 500 reads a second. Each minute allows 120 writes & 60 deletes. `x_api_rate_limited` means X limits this read for now. Neither answer costs anything. Wait for the seconds in `Retry-After`, then retry.
- `500`: Unexpected error.
- `default`: Unexpected error.
