# Delete monitor

`DELETE /api/v1/monitors/{id}`

Stops one account monitor, then removes its stored events in bounded batches. Poll statusUrl until the monitor returns 404.

- `id` string, required

## Response `202`

Monitor deletion started

  - `deletionStatus` 'deleting', required
  - `statusUrl` string, required — Poll this monitor URL until it returns 404.
  - `success` true, required

## Other responses

- `400` — Invalid input
- `401` — Unauthenticated
- `404` — Not found
- `429` — Xquik tier rate limit exceeded. The response includes a `Retry-After` header with the number of seconds to wait before retrying.
- `default` — Unexpected error.
