# Execute an action

`POST /action`

## Request

- Base URL: `http://localhost:21721`
- URL: `http://localhost:21721/action`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Executes an action, which is defined by its own schema. To obtain the schema and data for any action within XPipe, use the action shortcut menu.

## Request body

- ActionRequest
  - `action` object, required: The raw action data in json form. The best way to obtain this data is to use the action shortcut creation functionality.
  - `confirm` boolean, required: If the action is modifying something and the category has been configured to confirm all modifications, a confirmation dialog will be shown if this is is true.

## Response `200`

The action was executed successfully.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request. Please check error message and your parameters.
- `401`: Authorization failed. Please supply a `Bearer` token via the `Authorization` header.
- `403`: Authorization failed. Please supply a valid `Bearer` token via the `Authorization` header.
- `500`: Internal error.
