# Release a claimed or verified domain

`DELETE /organizations/{organizationID}/sso/domains/{domain}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.xata.tech`
- URL: `https://api.xata.tech/organizations/{organizationID}/sso/domains/{domain}`
- Auth: OAuth 2
  - Implicit: `https://auth.xata.io/realms/xata/protocol/openid-connect/auth`
  - Scopes: `org:write`

Drops a pending claim, or releases a verified domain so members on it sign in however they could before.
Refused with a 409 while the organization has a provider for the domain; remove the provider first. Idempotent.

- `401`: Error returned when authentication or authorization fails
- `403`: Single sign-on is not enabled for the organization, or the caller is not an Admin
- `409`: An identity provider is still connected to the domain
- `5XX`: Unexpected Error
