# Update an individual session

`PATCH /cohorts/{id}/sessions/{sessionId}`

Update details of a specific session within a cohort

## Path parameters

## Request body

- object
  - `title` string
  - `scheduled_start` string, date-time
  - `scheduled_end` string, date-time
  - `status` 'scheduled' | 'completed' | 'cancelled'
  - `zoom_link` string, uri, nullable
  - `location` string, nullable: MED-780. Free-text physical location for the calendar invite (e.g., "Room 204, 123 Main St"). When set, takes precedence over zoom_link as the calendar event's location field. The video link, if present, appears in the event description.
  - `one_on_one_type` 'standard_1_1' | 'two_on_one' | '360_debrief' | 'hogan_debrief' | 'other_assessment_debrief': 1:1 coaching topic (MED-689). Only valid when session_type = 'one_on_one_session'. Immutable once the session status is anything other than 'unscheduled' — the API responds 400 if a change is attempted on a scheduled or later session.

Session updated successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Session does not belong to this cohort, one_on_one_type was set on a non-1:1 session, or one_on_one_type change was attempted on a scheduled (or later) session.
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Cohort or session not found
- `422`: Validation error
