# Withdraw a participant from the cohort

`PATCH /cohorts/{cohortId}/participants/{participantId}/withdraw`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.production.yourmedley.com`
- URL: `https://api.production.yourmedley.com/cohorts/{cohortId}/participants/{participantId}/withdraw`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Soft-transitions participant status to 'withdrawn', records withdrawal date, and cancels scheduled emails. Use this instead of DELETE for live cohorts.

## Path parameters

- `cohortId` string, uuid, required
- `participantId` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Participant withdrawn successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Participant is already withdrawn
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Participant or cohort not found
