# Update internal Medley notes for a participant (MED-877)

`PATCH /cohorts/{cohortId}/participants/{participantId}/internal-notes`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.production.yourmedley.com`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Saves internal notes for the participant. HTML is sanitized server-side before storage. Restricted to Medley admins and cohort managers only.

- `cohortId` string, uuid, required
- `participantId` string, uuid, required

## Request body

  - `internal_notes` string, nullable, required: HTML body of the note; pass null or empty string to clear

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden - requires internal_admin or internal_user role
- `404`: Participant not found
